I’ve invited Mike Mathews to blog here with me because I trust his heart and his thinking.
I’ve also asked him to write a bio for this bio page. He said he didn’t want to. He told me to get the one off his MySpace page.
I went to his MySpace page and looked in the About Me section.
Mike’s About Me section said, ‘What am I doing here?” I told him I thought that was a tad short. He said, “Yes, but to the point.”
I told him he might be the only person clever enough to know why that one-liner is clever.
He didn’t respond.
You might pray for Mike….and his bio.

————————————–
From Mike in response to the above thoughts…
I was excited (and more than a little flattered) when Gary asked me to be a part of his venture into blog-dom. Doubt quickly followed excitement.
“Why does he want me to be a part of it?” certainly not my prowess with the written word. “What do I have to say that’s worth posting for the world?” Nothing comes to mind.
I still don’t have answers to those or any of the other thousand or so questions about I Am and Me, but I will at least take some time and write a bio. If only as a favor to a friend.
This is me:
-
a follower of Jesus Christ,
-
the husband of the lovely and talented Mrs. Mathews, Joni who keeps me going with her quiet strength, encouragement and, when necessary, honest and straight forward criticisim
-
father of three (Lillian, Maddox and Grant),
-
we live in Mitchell in a house that has been in various states of remodeling since we bought it — which says much about my personality and might be a metaphor for my spiritual life,
-
math nerd. I teach the Algebra and such at Scottsburg High School, Room 130
-
too much more to list, I guess they will come up if I blog long enough

Gary, I tried to put my “bio” post on this page but couldn’t figure it out.
